Kara Bennett, Blue Planet Green Living Contributing Writer
Kara Bennett is a recent University of Iowa graduate, having received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication and a Certificate in Sustainability.
She is currently working as a marketing intern with Denver’s Westword, an online and print publication that covers news, culture, and events in the greater Denver area.
Raised in Eastern Iowa, the Mississippi River was only a few feet from her front door. This closeness to nature grew into a passion for the outdoors and a reverence for wildlife and conservation.
Her combined love for nature and the written word is what ultimately drives Kara to continue to pursue interests in environmental journalism.
