Lauren Mills is a junior at the University of Iowa, majoring in Journalism, English, and Spanish. She recently returned from studying abroad in Chile and loves to travel, but she’ll always come home to her beloved Kansas City.
Her interest in environmental journalism began when she worked the environmental beat as a reporter for the The Daily Iowan. But Lauren’s love of the environment began much earlier, during family camping trips and a year living on a boat among the garbage-strewn beaches and bleached corals of the Caribbean.
She hopes that journalists and sites like BPGL will be able to draw attention to the challenges of cleaning up our environment and protecting our natural resources.
Lauren currently works as a reporting intern for The Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism.
