I checked out the lasagna gardening article. It sounds like a great idea. My only concern is whether the ink in the paper might contaminate an organic garden. Have you seen any info on that, Valerie? If so, please let us know. Thanks!

Hi Mary! Thanks for stopping in. Yes, my knees retired when I did. I'd be in the hospital if I had to crawl on the ground. We will see if the trellis thing works. The biggest problem, aside from getting the fence grids home, will be training the vines to grow where I want them. But, at least I should be able to stay standing. Stay tuned. Joe

What a great idea! I have arthritic knees and love gardening, but hadn't figured out how to do it. This trellis idea is fantastic for hobbling-about oldsters. I'll beg my husband to build me a big one!!! I'm printing out the directions. Thanks again for one more great idea from this special place you've made here.

How to Build a Quick and Easy Vegetable Trellis : Blue Planet Green Living...

It’s spring in Iowa, and the smell of the moist, black soil calls out to the gardener in all of us. Ever since the first hint of bulbs peeking through the dirt, I’ve been itching to get started planting an organic garden....

Try Lasagna Gardening, you won't have to break the sod and it's a GREAT way to dispose of your kitchen peelings etc ...
