You’re right. It’s outrageous. So tell your state and federal legislators exactly what you think about the situation. The lobbyists are strong and persistent on behalf of Big Ag. But our legislators have to pay attention to the comments and the visitors they get on both sides. If you and people who agree with you go to your state house and/or call/email/write letters with substantive comments, they have to listen to you, too! Mobilize your friends and family. This is an issue that affects them, too.

As sure as the sun comes up tomorrow, the bill will pass to allow manure on frozen ground. Farm Bureau invests in hog confinements and agribusiness so there is the reason not to mention scaring everyone that has livestock by telling them they won’t be able to get rid of their manure either. Truth is the rule only applies to permited facilities, not everyone. I quit eating pork because it is the right thing to do. Hog confinements make families live in the stench of hog sewage 24/7 even if they don’t want the confinement there the state approves it any way. Big Ag will sacrifice anyone to make a dollar.
