Doreen Hock, DVM received her Veterinary degree from Oregon State University in 1987. After working as Chief of Staff at the Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Eugene, Oregon, she discovered the effectiveness of acupuncture in dogs when her own dog was cured of a back problem by acupuncture alone.

In 1994, Hock was certified as a Veterinary Acupuncturist by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and opened her own holistic clinic, Pacifica Veterinary Services in Eugene, Oregon. In 1997, she also opened The Healthy Pet, a holistic pet supply store, to provide healthy foods and supplements to the general public.

    That’s an awesome collection of dogs there! We have always gone for labs in my family, so we don’t have the broad experience you do with different breeds. I wonder if you could comment on your favorite breed and why?
